Community Music
As a community music practitioner and facilitator, Tomáš is a firm believer in the importance of access to music education and support spaces and in creating provision for marginalised communities for whom there have traditionally been barriers to accessing such opportunities.
Tomáš has worked closely with Lewisham based music projects Alchemy and Heart N Soul for many years.
Alchemy is a youth music project based at Goldsmiths, University of London. It provides training, support, studio time, mentoring and opportunities to young people 13 -18 from the London borough of Lewisham. Tomáš has been a Music Mentor at the project since 2018 providing creative and technical support and running recording sessions and workshops for young people.
Heart N Soul is a charity based at The Albany in Deptford that works with people with learning disabilities on music and art projects. Tomáš has been involved with the project for many years as project support facilitator, recording and mix engineer, event production manager and looking after studio maintenance for Heart N Soul’s in-house studio. Over this time Tomáš has worked with, created with and supported many different adults and young people with vary access and support needs.
